Accreditations
The main meaning of accreditation is that an independent external body certifies the laboratory’s competence, independence and impartiality with regard to the accredited tests.
Accreditation proves that the laboratory satisfies both the technical and the management system requirements needed to provide accurate, technically valid data and results for specific testing activities
Accreditation does not imply a reduction in responsibilities for the activities performed; the laboratory maintains sole responsibility in relation to third parties for all analysis work undertaken, and the MK Laboratory commits to complying with all applicable safety requirements as enforced by the relevant regulations and by the documents, under an ACCREDIA convention.
The MK S.r.l. Laboratory is accredited by accreditation body ACCREDIA in accordance with the requirements of the UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 standard, accreditation no. 1666L, in force since 2017.
ACCREDIA is a signatory to the EA-MLA and ILAC-MLA mutual recognition agreements, which extend the validity of the laboratory’s accreditation across national boundaries and internationally to all countries which are signatories to these agreements.
Use of the ACCREDIA mark
document ACCREDIA RG-09 “Regulation for use of the ACCREDIA mark”, currently in force, contains various points relating to the clients of accredited laboratories. In particular:
- 5.1.6 Accredited CABs shall signal to ACCREDIA any improper use of the Mark or logo.
- 5.3.4 The ACCREDIA Mark and any reference to accreditation shall not be placed on a testing sample or a product (or a part of one) or be used to indicate product certification.
- 5.3.13 The ACCREDIA Mark, or any reference to accreditation, shall not be used by the clients of accredited laboratories, nor shall they be used in documents concerning the product or on the product. It is permitted to attach a copy of the test report. The lab shall inform its clients with regard to the reasons for this limitation of use and it shall oversee adherence. Clients of accredited laboratories who carry out commercial activities of accredited activities (e.g. consultancy companies, intermediaries) that issue test reports with results provided by accredited laboratories shall not use the ACCREDIA mark or the reference to the accreditation of the laboratory that performed the test. They shall not use the ACCREDIA mark in any way on the offers of accredited services, but may quote the reference to accreditation, reporting the accreditation number and the name of the accredited laboratory.
- 9.2 The ACCREDIA Logo, as well as those of IAF and ILAC are protected by law and thus illegal or fraudulent use of them by accredited bodies and/or by their clients will, where applicable, lead to prosecution under the law.
The MK Laboratory utilises national and/or international standard analysis methods when available, and when standard regulations of reference are lacking the Laboratory has developed validated internal methods. The test methods used will be specified in the test report for every parameter corresponding to the matrix of the material for examination, unless specifically requested to the contrary. Moreover, on the Client’s request the Laboratory provides information and explanations regarding the test methods and techniques used.
